At Dot, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it. We keep it simple — because that's how we do everything.
What we collect
When you join our waitlist, we collect:
- Your email address
- The date and time you signed up
When you use Dot via WhatsApp, we collect:
- Your phone number (to identify your account)
- The messages you send to Dot (tasks, reminders, list items)
- Your preferences and settings (briefing times, timezone, crew names)
What we don't collect
We don't collect your location, payment information (until you subscribe), or any data from your device beyond what WhatsApp passes to us through their API.
How we use your data
We use your information only to provide and improve the Dot service — to remember your tasks, send your daily briefings, and make Dot smarter over time. We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to run Dot:
- Meta / WhatsApp — to send and receive messages
- Supabase — to store your data securely
- OpenAI — to understand your messages (no data is stored by OpenAI for training)
- Formspree — to collect waitlist emails
That's it. No advertisers. No data brokers. No third-party tracking.
How we protect your data
Your data is stored securely and encrypted at rest. We use industry-standard practices to keep it safe. Your conversations with Dot are private — they are not read by humans unless you specifically ask for support.
Your rights
You can ask us to delete your data at any time. Just email us at hello@talktodot.com and we'll take care of it within 7 days.
Cookies
This website does not use tracking cookies. We don't run ads and we don't use analytics that follow you around the internet.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes to this policy we'll let waitlist members know by email.
